Accreditation, Visa Support Procedures, accommodation and transportation for Media Representatives Covering Sport Competitions Season 2012-2013.

Dear guests!

This page was specially created for the representatives of Russian and International Media intending to visit the sport competitions of the 2012-2013 season in Sochi.

Here you may find all the information you may require on accreditation, visa support, media accommodation booking and transport services to be provided during the competitions.

Accreditation

Please, note that the accreditation for ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix Final and FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is already closed.

For all other events of the season 2012-2013 accreditation ends 45 days before the starting date of an international competition and 14 days prior of a national competition.

To get accredited you need to follow the below steps:

Step 1

Download the Accreditation form. Fill in the required gaps with personal information of all your staff members intending to visit the 2012 – 2013 competitions.

Step 2

Please, note that your accreditation application should include:

  • Completed Accreditation form;
  • Official letter duly stamped and signed by your director (PDF file);
  • Photographs of staff members (JPEG file) attached to the Accreditation form;
  • Scanned passport copies of staff members (PDF file).

Printing press representatives shall send the completed accreditation applications to Sochi 2014 via

 

TV and radio broadcasting companies shall send the completed accreditation applications to the Host Broadcaster company to

In case of any amendments to the applicants list you should inform Sochi 2014 with an official letter letter (PDF file) via

 

for press or

 

for broadcasters.

Step 3

Please, note that a separate accreditation card will be issued for each Sport Event in 2012-2013.

Therefore, not later than 45 days before a respective sport event all applicants shall confirm their participation in the event via e-mail

 

for press representatives and

 

for broadcasting companies accordingly.

Participation confirmation for FIS Ski-Jumping World Cup and ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix Final is not required.

Step 4

Upon approval of the Russian Sport Federation/International Sport Federation, Sochi 2014 duly informs all applicants of successful accreditation via e-mail and provides instructions on media hotel booking procedure.

Step 5

To get your accreditation card you should contact the Accreditation Center in Sochi. Information on the Accreditation Center location and working hours will be provided together with accreditation confirmation via e-mail.

For Broadcasting Companies

ATTENTION! As there is no Host Broadcaster at the national events of the 2012-2013 season, as well as at WCF Curling World Junior Championship, FIS Alpine Skiing Europe Cup and para-snowboard contests, all TV and radio broadcasting companies will be accredited as press. Please, note that all applications for these events shall be also sent to

 

Please, note that broadcasting rights, including internet broadcasting, are reserved by the Host Broadcaster company and / or Russian rights holding company. All applications submitted by the companies, which broadcast on the territory of the Russian Federation, shall also be approved by the Russian rights holding company.

The Host Broadcaster company considers each application and admits applicants to further accreditation procedure according to the rules of International Sport Federation, basing on:

  1. Status of a broadcasting company (rights holder / non-rights holder),
  2. Number of applicants from the same company (number may be limited to 3 persons),
  3. Additional documents submitted on request (TV disclaimer, etc.)

Additional information on accreditation of foreign Media representatives

For journalistic operations outside the sport venues all foreign Media representatives should also duly obtain accreditation at the Department of Press and Information of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the Rules of accreditation and staying on the territory of the Russian Federation for foreign Media representatives dated September 13, 1994 No. 1055 may be found at the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Visa support procedure for foreign Media representatives

The Organizing Committee may provide visa support for foreign Media representatives, if necessary. In this case foreign Media representatives will be granted a double entry visa valid for 90 days.

Please, note that the passport should be valid for at least 190 calendar days after the date of LAST departure from the Russian Federation in 2012-2013 season.

Step 1

If your organization requires Russian visa support be sure to fill in the required section “Information for Russian Visa” on the “PD” sheet of the accreditation/visa form.

Step 2

You will receive an official special invitation letter (scanned or fax copy), issued by the Sochi 2014, which will be required to receive a Russian entry visa.

Step 3

Choose the Russian Embassy or consulate nearest you to submit the letter of invitation and the documents required when applying for Russian visa. The list of Russian Consular offices abroad is available at: www.mid.ru/zu_r.nsf/strawebeng

Note that terms and conditions (such as list of required documents, passport validity period, visa fees, visa issuing period, working days/hours of the Consular office, etc.) may vary from one country to another. Every Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to require additional documents to process your application. It is important to inquire about all the details of the visa issuance procedure in advance at the respective Consular office.

Step 4

Receive the visa at the Russian Consulate.

Be attentive, you need to check all the information in the issued visa: issue date, expiry date, passport №, personal information (date of birth, last name, first name, citizenship) at the Consular office.

Filling in the Migration Card

Before passing passport control at the point of entry into the Russian Federation Test Events’ participant must fill in a Migration Card. Migration Card form will be given out on the airplane (train) or directly at the point of entry into the Russian Federation.

The entry part (A) and exit part (B) of the Migration Card should be filled in personally by the foreign citizen using Russian or Latin letters according to the passport, in legible block letters, without mistakes or corrections, strictly in the correspondent blanks, using ink or ballpoint pen in black, blue or purple. A Migration Card must be filled in for each foreign citizen, irrespective of their age.

When going through border control, the passports of Test Events’ participant will be stamped to record entry into the Russian Federation, and the right part of the Migration Card (B) will be returned to the holder, the left part (A) will be taken by the border control officer.

If a Migration Card is lost or damaged, inform ANO "Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014" Visa support and Migration Services Division Accreditation Department at the same day.

Exiting the Russian Federation.

On exiting the Russian Federation, present the following documents to the border control officer:

  • Passport;
  • Valid visa
  • Part B of the Migration Card.

Accommodation in media hotel

All accredited Media representatives will have an opportunity to book the rooms in a media-hotel with discount. Accommodation booking request will be sent after the accreditation approval by relevant International Sport Federation.

Transportation

Media transportation service will be arranged for all competitions and official trainings.

The Coastal cluster transportation will be operational two hours before start of competition and three hours after (-2/+3).

The Mountain cluster transportation will be operational three hours before the competition and four hours after (-3/+4).

Additional information

Below is some important information that we would like you to be aware of before you come to Sochi for the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup.

Airport-Hotel transfer Taxi will be available at the baggage collection area in Sochi Airport. There are taxi desks adjacent to the baggage carousel. Sochi 2014 volunteers, wearing red uniforms, will be in this area to provide any assistance you may require. In case of emergency you can call +7 (925) 999-21-94 to be connected with an English speaking operator who will be able to assist you.

Accreditation If you are staying in the Media hotel (Grand Hotel Polyana, Belarus, Chalet Polyana, Gala Plaza) please collect your accreditation card at the reception of your hotel once you have checked in. If there are any issues with your accreditation, please do not hesitate to contact our Hotline at +7 (928) 234-14-17. If you are not staying in the Media Hotel (you have self accommodation) we kindly ask you to pick up your accreditation card at the Media Accreditation Center located at the Park Inn Hotel (Olimpyskaya str. 35, Esto-Sadok - Rosa Khutor) from 5th till 9th of December. Opening hours: 10:00–17:00.

Venue tour We would be delighted if you could join us for media venue tour of the Olympic Park in Sochi to witness the progress of the Olympic Ice Palace construction at the Coastal Cluster. The venue tours will be arranged for journalists accredited for the test events in Sochi. More information you will find in the file attached.
